Quality Standards

GFSI-CertifiedRecognizing the importance of food safety in the manufacturing process, Tulkoff participates in the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSi).

Audit Certifications

SQFLogoBoth of Tulkoff’s manufacturing facilities are Safe Quality Food (SQF) certified. This certification promotes food safety, defines quality management systems, reduces inconsistencies and confirms all products are manufactured, processed and prepared under specific controls and standards. SQF is accepted around the world, which aids customers in expanding their own business, taking products to new countries. The Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) is headquartered out of Arlington, VA, and is a division of The Food Marketing Institute (FMI). The SQFI benefits from being a part of FMI as FMI keeps up with consumer and retailer issues, giving the SQFI direct access to new concerns.

*The SQF certification is part of the accepted schemes by the Global Food Safety Initiative standards, which is required by many food distributors and retailers. Tulkoff is committed to our consumers and are proud to be SQF certified.

Food Safety Compliance

To ensure consistent quality, each Tulkoff facility has a fully staffed quality assurance lab which monitors all products throughout the manufacturing process and performs multiple tests during production. Tests are product dependent, but might include: pH and density testing, titrations for total acidity, salt analysis, Brix by Abbé refractometer, and viscosity by Bostwick or Brookfield methods. Microbiological testing and certificates of analysis are available upon request.FSMA Logo

All standard operating practices and procedures are aligned with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) from vendor analysis and verification to food safety guarantees.

HACCP Program

HACCP.AllianceTaking part in the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point program, or HACCP, enables our company to take a systematic approach to evaluating possible hazards associated with our raw materials, processing steps, and finished products. Using HACCP guidelines, we can determine what hazards can enter our product, where the hazards occur, and how we can control or eliminate the hazards. Our HACCP program works hand in hand with our prerequisite programs such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, Trace & Recall Program, Allergen Control Program, Pest Control Program, and Employee Training.
