We Are SQF and BRC Certified
Baltimore, MD (January 25, 2012) – Tulkoff Food Products, Inc. is proud to announce their participation in the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), as a continued effort in their commitment to food safety and quality. As of January 2012, Tulkoff’s Baltimore, Maryland manufacturing facility has received the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Level 2 certification with an Excellent rating. In addition, Tulkoff’s Pittsburg, California manufacturing facility has received the BRC Global Standards Certification, Grade A. Both certifications are part of the GFSI recognized schemes.
GFSI is a nonprofit organization that aims to set globally recognized food safety standards to which different audits can adhere. Due to the common foundation set by GFSI, many retailers will now accept several of the schemes that follow the GFSI Guidance Document as interchangeable.
“Our company’s historical commitment to quality is equaled only by our commitment to food safety. The attainment of our SQF and BRC certifications with the highest ratings through third party auditors is proof that we have invested the time, manpower and processes in order to provide the safest possible products for all of our customers,” said Phil Tulkoff, President of Tulkoff Food Products, Inc.
In order for Tulkoff manufacturing facilities to earn these certifications, good manufacturing practices must be in place. Documented processes and procedures, a detailed HACCP plan, and allergen control programs for food safety risks are also required.
